I've been US citizen since 1998, have lost my old Chinese passport. This is my first time apply Chinese visa. I went to Chinese embassy last week, and was issued Chinese visa. They took my application and US password, and told me it would take long time to approve/deny Chinese visa. I have already purchased airline ticket to Beijing around end of June. Now I don't know what to do.
Have anyone successfully obtain chinese visa without original passport? The original passport is only required first time applying chinese visa with US passport.

我现在持美国护照，想在中国长期待一段时间，但是我听说探亲签证最多只能呆60天，不知道有什么办法可以呆足180以上的。听说去中国之后，再去一个别的地方，就可以再续签90天，不知道有没有这样打办法，总之我现在打算在中国呆180天以上，现在有中国美国两本护照，我应该怎么做？如果有详细的步骤就好了。
