Dear CSSA Members:

The CSSA committee is pleased to announce the seventh annual CSSA-UCLA badminton tournament. As a tradition for fall quarter and also one of the welcome events for the new bruins, the tournament is going to be an excellent opportunity for CSSA members to make new friends and relax from the pressure of courses in the new quarter. Please note, this event is not designed for the advanced players only, so all the members are encouraged to join. Register now, and start practicing today! We are looking forward to meeting you in the courts!

Tournament Information

1. Qualified participants:

CSSA-UCLA members and their family members (female or male). People out of CSSA are also welcomed.

2. Categories:

Men's Single, Women's Single, Men's Double, Women's Double and Mixed Double.

Note: If you register for any double without a partner, we will try our best to match you with another player.

3. Court & Time:

Badminton court at John Wooden center; Nov. 3rd (Saturday), 12:00pm-8:00pm

* It is important that all registered players show up on time. You may be disqualified otherwise.

** The court and time schedule on that day are subject to change (one week before the tournament).

*** One player can play up to two categories.

**** Please arrive 15 minutes early for check-in. Player will be defaulted and the game will be disqualified if he/she is 10 minutes late for the game.

4. Awards:

The top three winners/pairs of each category will have beautiful awards and certificates . The winners of each category will be given the highest preference to represent CSSA-UCLA in the 2007 Southern California CSSA Badminton Tournament.

5. Rackets and Shuttles:

All players need to bring their own rackets and shuttles.

6. Rules, Regulations and Referees:

Rules will be finalized based on the number of participants in each category after the registration deadline. For single elimination matches, we will assign players to serve as referees. Each player is expected to serve as a referee (no former experience required) AT LEAST ONCE to qualify for ongoing games. We are also looking for volunteers to work as referees (again, former experience as referee not required). Your help will be greatly appreciated!
