1. Marriage License
Cost: The license fee is $ 50.00 cash. No appointment is necessary.
Application: Both parties must appear at the Marriage License Bureau, 1st floor, 200 South Third Street.
Marriage Ceremonies: In order to have a legal marriage, a ceremony must be performed in the State of Nevada within one year from date of issuance of the marriage license by any person licensed or authorized to perform ceremonies in Nevada. The ceremony may be performed in any Wedding Chapel, Church or the Civil Marriage Commissioner. These marriages are recognized throughout the world.

WITNESSES
There must be at least one additional witness other than the person performing the ceremony.
NOT REQUIRED
Blood tests are not required, and there is no waiting period.
DIVORCE REQUIREMENTS
To obtain a marriage license and have a legal marriage, divorces must be final in the state where granted. The date of the final decree and city and state where granted are required.
INTERNATIONAL COUPLES
Those couples who reside outside the U.S. will need to provide some proof of their birthdate, such as a passport or other country-issued I.D., in order to obain a marriage license. There is no other special documentation that will need to be provided. Those couples will need to contact officials in their country of orgin to find out how to register their marriage at home.
AGE
Adults 18 years of age and older need no consent to be married in Nevada. Proof of age will be required through age 21. Persons between the ages of 16 and 17 may marry if:
-Consent is given by either a parent in person at the time the license is applied for; or,
-Consent is given through a notarized affidavit signed by either parent when not present. This notarized affidavit of consent must contain the birthdate of the minor, state the relationship of the party giving consent and be written in English.
Persons Under the Age of 16
A person less than 16 years of age may marry only if he or she has the consent of a parent or legal guardian and authorization from a Nevada District Court. The court may authorize the marriage of persons less than 16 years of age in extraordinary circumstances if the court finds that:
- The marriage will serve the best interests of such person; and,
- Such person has the consent required.
